Stranger Drawing Project, Houston, 2007. The Stranger Drawing Project in Houston is a recreation of the same project I organized in New York the year before. The project begins with the solicitation of pictures using online and print ads. Selected artists are then asked to pick a “stranger” from the submitted pictures to create a portrait. The project ends when the strangers attend the exhibition to pick up their free portrait. Here, they see themselves on the wall and have the opportunity to meet the artists and other strangers.
