For the fourth assignment, Robin and I "hacked" a caulk gun. Instead of using this tool for it's normal use, caulking things, we chose to use the pressure of the gun to make beverages high in caffeine. In this picture, espresso beans are being put into the PVC pipe filter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is a picture of Robin pushing the coffee down with the other PVC part. This is important because when the beans are more packed, more force is needed to push the water through. (Better? yes.)

Now the fun happens as the second PVC part is used to push the water through the coffee. Caulking a caulk gun is really fun whether fixing some leaky windows or making silicon molds. Caulking the gun in order to create espresso is especially fun.
